Hello. I am trying to learn information about Jacob White, son of Isaac White and Mahalia Adkins White, from the Anderson area. He married Nancy Jane Bell in the early 1870’s and lived in and around Jasper and Victoria, TN in the 1870’s, and died sometime in the late 1870’s as his wife Nancy is counted as a widow on the 1880 census. Any help or insights are most welcome……David White
David, I have been working on my genealogy as well. My 2x Great-grandmother, Barbara Allen White Brown, was Jacob’s youngest sister. Her daughter, my Great-grandmother was called, Haley, but I suspect that was a nickname for Mahalia, named for her grandmother. I will contact you if I fid further information. I have been working on another family line. When I get more in depth on this one, I will let you know. If you find anything on them, please let me know.

Hey David – I’m looking for the same couple! I’m told Jacob and Nancy Jane were the parents of my great-grandfather, George H. White who married twice, the second time to Roxie Bowman of Claiborne County. We might be quite close cousins. I haven’t any more information, but it I find anything out I’ll be happy to contact you if you want. All I know for certain is that George had a sister named Hester who married either a Jake of Jack Davis. I know how frustrating the White family tree can be. Feel free to get in touch if you like: whiteleah641@gmail.com.

Hello, does anyone know where I can find more family information on William Goldman Carden, Lurana Belle Slover, and their daughter Ella Burnel Carden? Also trying to find Burkey family history from Anderson County.
What year did Molly Waddell from Oak Ridge Tn. Born? I am trying to find out how old she will be tomorrow on her birthday
I’m a Broyles surname researcher and just want to let people who are researching this surname in Tennessee know that John Kenneth (Ken) Broyles, Sr died March 2016. Ken was the former editor of the “Broyles Family Newsletter.” I’m a black Broyles surname research born in Greeneville, Greene county, Tennessee. Ken was a big help to me when I began my research on my family in 1995. He would send me names of any black Broyles person he came across back then. Later in 1997 at a Broyles-Evans Family reunion in Flint, Michigan I was told by my father’s fifth of 8 sisters that anyone living in Greene county Tennessee with the name of Broyles was related to me. In Greeneville, TN the name Broyles outnumbers Jones, Smith, and Williams easily. If anyone would like to get in touch with me they can at this email: surubaid@gmail.com. My name is Shahid Raki formerly (Lawrence L. Broyles).
Shahid Raki, Very sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Ken Broyles, Sr. It is sad to lose a family member, especially the memory keeper of a family.
I’m searching for any available photo-images of Hugh Barton “H.B.” Bowling (1847-1928) of Coal-Creek-Clinton, his wife Margaret Owen(s), family or the house(s) they lived-in, if still standing. I am a descendant (Gr-Gr grandson) and thus, interested.
I do not know your Bowling but do know that there is a Hugh Barton Lamar in the family of William Lamar of Anderson Co and he seemed to live in the area of Coal Creek and Lake City .Possiby there is one of that family who might be able to tell you who Hugh Barton was or a Bowling named for him
I have some info on the family of Wm Lamar and his first wife Roseanne Mills who died in about 1800 and his second wife Mary Polly Severs 1795 that he married in l806 and had a second family. There is a book in the Clinton Library on the Lamar family by Petracek that might have some info on the Barton or Bowling families..
Charles Severs
They are buried at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton, TN. I looked them up on Find A Grave and it has photos and an obituary with names of relatives. I will see if I can find out from an Owens that works at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Rocky Top, TN. Formerly Lake City and Coal Creek.
You maybe know that there was a medical doctor named Hugh Barton in Anderson Co TN around the time of your ancestor. There were a number of children named after him, it seems – as in the case of Hugh Barton Lamar and Hugh Barton Bowling. This must have been a way to honor a man who, perhaps, helped with the childbirths. It may shed light on your search.
Jeff, Hugh Barton Bowling is my GGrandfather. I have many of his things, and pictures of him, the old family house, etc. send me an email.
Latimerbart@gmail.com . I am named after him.

Hello,
I’m looking for some information on my husband’s G-grandmother and the father of his grandfather. No one knows the name of the G-grandfather and I’m trying to find any information. The G-grandmother’s name is Sarah Lee “Sise” Seiber. She spent a lot of time near the mining camps in Anderson, Roane, and Morgan County in the 1920’s. She gave birth to a son Freddie Carl Seiber 1921/1922 but I can’t verify that because I can’t find a birth certificate. If you have any information please let me know. Thank you.
Is your seiber family related to Phillip Seiber or William Severs who were in the earliest minutes of Anderson County working together for extra money. I have some info on both of them. Also I note Ed Vandergriff response and wonder if he might be related to Rebecca Vandergriff who married John Severs son of William Severs 1752. John was born 1798 in Anderson Co probably in the part taken from Knox Co to form Anderson Co. There was another Severs family on Botetourt Co VA and another Seiver family which goes back to Clark B Seiver 1829-30 and that one was Ydna match to William 1752 who married Catherine Peck in Montgomery Co VA in 1793. The Seavers in Botetourt Co VA had a daughter who married John Lamar and Mary “Polly” Severs d/o William 1752 married William Lamar in 1811 after his first wife Roseanne Mills died in 1806 but those SVR families are not a Ydna match.
